We’re changing the way we approach our Sunday Morning Music posts. For the next several months, these posts will be authored by artists so you can get a glimpse into what inspires them. We hope you enjoy today’s post from our friend, Lindsay McCaul.
I first heard Madi Diaz’s smooth, haunting voice a few years ago when I fortuitously selected random play on my husband’s iPod. After hearing that first song by Madi, I quickly turned random play off and listened through the rest of her absolutely addictive album, and must have replayed “Time” over a dozen times (that’ll teach my husband to let me be car DJ).
It’s the song that gets stuck in my head more often than any other … who can’t empathize with that feeling of time marching madly on, leaving us in its dust as we ache and try to make sense of all it has thrust upon us, begging it to come back and let things be the way they were. “My head before my heart gives up … time will move on before I do.”
